Product Description
SL-668 is a single-component polyurethane based on MDI. Upon reacting with water, it expands rapidly to seal cracks and achieve water stopping. Its features are as follows:
- 1.It is a hydrophobic MDI‑based polyurethane, non‑water‑absorbent and non‑shrinking.
- 2.Single‑component packaging. It reacts with water to form impermeable urethane, and will not corrode or damage RC structures and steel bars.
- 3.Excellent toughness; can be used in areas in contact with drinking water.
- 4.Suitable for single‑component injection equipment.
Hardening Characteristics
1.The mixing ratio of SL-668 waterstop with water and temperature greatly affect curing time and strength.Water volume is directly proportional to curing time.A simple test before use is recommended to achieve optimal performance.
2.The hardened expanded body resists weak acids and weak alkalis, and is compatible with asphalt joint fillers, concrete, etc.
3.When SL-668 PU waterstop is used below groundwater level, excessive water may cause oversaturation and residual water, resulting in poor water sealing. It is recommended to perform 2–3 additional grouting runs after the first foaming to fill voids in the foam.
Scope of Application
Diaphragm walls, tunnels, box culverts, expansion joints, basements, hairline cracks, shield tunnels, window frames, interior and exterior walls, reservoirs, harbor works, roof slabs, soil improvement, ring segment water stopping, etc.
Product Features
- 1.Reacts and expands immediately upon contact with water; also reacts with moisture in the air and expands.
- 2.High expansion rate, high hardness, low toughness.
- 3.Strong adhesion to substrates and excellent chemical resistance(resistant to drinking water, seawater, wastewater, diluted acidic and alkaline chemicals).
- 4.No dry shrinkage.
- 5.Non-toxic after full reaction.
Construction Method
Two methods are generally used depending on construction requirements:
I. Structural Crack Leakage Treatment
1.Drill holes at 5–10 cm left or right from the lowest point of the construction joint, at a 45° angle, to a depth of 2/3 of the structural thickness.Drill sequentially from low to high, with hole spacing of 15–30 cm.Install grouting injectors at the highest point after drilling is complete.
2.After installing injectors, use a high-pressure grouting machine to inject the waterstop from bottom to top until the material overflows from the structural surface, then proceed to other injectors in sequence.
3.One hour after water stopping, remove the injectors. If any material inside the injector is not fully foamed, wait until full curing before filling holes with sealant.
II. Honeycomb Leakage Treatment
1.Drill holes every 25–30 cm within the honeycomb area, to a depth of 2/3 of the structural thickness.Install and tighten grouting injectors, then inject the waterstop using a high-pressure grouting machine.
2.Start injection from the lowest injector. When the honeycomb is filled and hardened by the foamed material and overflows from the surface, continue injecting upward in sequence. The reaction with water fills all fine gaps and completely stops leakage.
3.One hour after water stopping, remove the injectors. If any material inside the injector is not fully foamed, wait until full curing before filling holes with sealant.
Note:
Wear protective equipment (gloves, mask, goggles, etc.) during injection to avoid direct skin contact.
If splashed onto skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
If splashed into eyes, flush with plenty of water and seek medical attention immediately.

Do not store in high temperature or direct sunlight.
Keep in a cool, dry place.
