Product Introduction

K11 waterproof coating is a unique, highly active polymer powder consisting of synthetic rubber, synthetic styrene ester, and a blend of lotions. It is processed through plasticizing, mixing, calendering, and other processes with the addition of base materials, appropriate chemical additives, and fillers. Made from imported materials and high-quality domestic auxiliary materials, it is a high-quality product produced in accordance with the highest level of national industry standards and is listed as a key promoted product by the Ministry of Construction.

Scope of Application

1. Prefabricated concrete structure, with cement plastered floor, brick wall, and lightweight brick wall structure;

2. Floor walls, floors, bathrooms, kitchens, flower beds; edible water pools, fish ponds, sewage treatment ponds;

3. Basements, subway stations, tunnels, civil air defense projects, mines, and building foundations;

4. Apply it as a primer layer on the substrate before laying stone, tile, wooden floor, wallpaper, and plasterboard to achieve the effect of preventing moisture and salt contamination.

Main Features

1. The active components in the slurry can penetrate into the pores and microcracks of the cement-based surface, undergoing chemical reactions and infiltrating into the internal crystallization of the substrate, forming a dense waterproof layer;

2. Capable of covering hairline cracks (less than 0.4mm) and resisting minor shocks;

3. It can be applied on damp substrates without the need for a mortar protective layer, allowing direct tiling and subsequent processes to be carried out;

4. The crystalline body penetrates deep into the pores of the substrate, exhibiting high impermeability and compressive strength, and possesses waterproofing function on the negative water surface;

5. Non-toxic and harmless, it can be directly applied to drinking water pools and fish ponds; the coating has the effect of inhibiting mold growth and preventing moisture and salt contamination of the surface.

construction technology

construction process

Base layer cleanup → reinforcement layer construction → joint sealing → wetting the base surface → applying the first coat → curing → applying the second coat → curing → protective layer construction (optional based on specific conditions)

Construction preparation

1. Carefully inspect the base layer of the waterproof layer, diligently address any defects, and thoroughly clean it.

(1) The base layer should be flat, smooth, free from sanding and peeling, possess a certain degree of strength, and have a drainage slope that meets design requirements. Internal and external corners should be made into rounded corners or slope angles with a diameter of not less than 30mm.

(2) If the base surface is dry, it must be pre-wetted to keep it moist, but without any visible water present.

(3) Any defects at the base level should be addressed before construction can continue.

When there are unevenness, pits, or ponding, various brands of synthetic latex cement mortar can be used to fill in and create a slope.

② The peeling on the surface should be removed.

2. For the repair of the old waterproof layer, the adherents on the base layer should be cleaned up and leveled. If the surface of the old waterproof layer is flat, the material has not lost its effectiveness, and is compatible with K11 waterproof slurry, construction can be continued directly on it.

Construction of K11 waterproof slurry

1. Coating preparation

The weighing of ingredients must be accurate, with each weighing error not exceeding ±5%.

Proportion:

The mixing ratio for the universal K11 waterproof slurry is: additive: powder = 0.36:1;

Flexibility K11(I) waterproof slurry ratio: additive: powder = 0.80:1;

The ratio of the flexible K11(II) waterproof slurry is: additive: powder = 0.68:1;

② First, pour the additives into the container according to the proportion and in the correct order, then pour in the powder material, and simultaneously use an electric mixer to stir until it becomes a paste with no sediment.

Judgment criterion for uniformity: The slurry is uniform without raw powder clumps.

③ After mixing evenly, it needs to be left for 5-10 minutes, and then stirred again before use;

④ During the operation process, intermittent stirring should be maintained to prevent sedimentation.

2. Preparation for base layer treatment

After passing the basic inspection, the surface dust, lime sand, and gravel lumps should be removed, and then the surface should be wetted before proceeding to the next construction process.

3. Enhancement layer and node processing

The reinforcement layer primarily targets the weak links in the construction site, specifically the areas prone to leakage. By implementing reinforcement measures, we aim to enhance waterproof safety performance and ensure effective waterproofing.

① At the locations that need reinforcement, such as internal corners and pipe openings, a small circular arc shape should be created using cement mortar. Then, apply a coat of flexible K11 waterproofing slurry, followed by the application of non-woven fabric and a second coat.

② For areas requiring the laying of carcass reinforcement materials, after the reinforcement coating has dried, lay the cut carcass materials flat and then adhere them using K11 waterproof paste.

4. Coating application and construction

When the thickness of the coating layer is within 1.5mm, it should be applied in two coats; for thicknesses between 1.5mm and 2.0mm, it should be applied in three coats. After applying the first coat, wait for it to dry and solidify initially (with an interval of 2 to 4 hours) before applying the second coat.

The preliminary dryness criterion is determined by the following: the wall feels dry to the touch and does not fall off when touched. The floor requires a slightly longer time, and it is determined by the condition that walking on it will not damage the waterproof layer.

② The painting should start from the lowest point on the plane and the farthest point from the upper feeding port. When both the facade and the plane need to be constructed, the facade should be painted first and then the plane.

③ Divide the construction surface according to the quantity required for one mixing and the thickness required for one application, and ensure that the materials mixed each time are used up on that specific area, in order to guarantee the accuracy of the coating thickness.

④ During the flat surface scraping construction, evenly pour the mixed paint onto the base surface according to the required amount, and use a brush to scrape it evenly. The two scraping passes on the flat surface should be perpendicular to each other. During the vertical surface painting construction, the painting direction of the brush should be from bottom to top. Be sure to scrape away the slurry flowing to the internal corners in a timely manner to avoid cracking caused by excessive accumulation.

5. Before the first coat dries and becomes firm enough for people to walk on and proceed with the second coat, the quality of the scraping should be carefully inspected at each location to check for any missed areas or sand holes, and any defects should be promptly repaired.

6. After initial drying and solidification, watering and curing should be carried out in the form of spraying to achieve the best results.

7. Construction shall not be carried out on rainy, snowy, or windy days. On foggy days, construction can only proceed after the dew has dried. It is required that it does not rain within two hours of construction. If it rains during construction, rainproof measures shall be taken.

8. When constructing a protective layer on the K11 waterproof layer, it should be bonded firmly. When using polyethylene foam boards as the protective layer, they should be adhered securely. When using rigid protective layers such as cement mortar, fine aggregate concrete, or blocks for construction, transport vehicles should not walk directly on the waterproof layer or use sharp objects such as iron picks to directly impact the waterproof layer.

construction quantity

Apply the waterproof layer twice, with a thickness of approximately 1mm. The amount of slurry used is:

1. Universal K11 waterproof slurry: 2.0kg/m2.

2. Flexibility K11(I) waterproof slurry, 1.8kg/m2.

Project quality requirements and acceptance

After the coating construction is completed and before the construction of the rigid protective layer, a comprehensive and detailed inspection of the waterproof coating layer should be conducted. Any air holes, scratches, punctures, or damages found during the inspection should be immediately repaired. The completed waterproof layer must not leak.

2. Check that there are no sand holes between the coatings.

3. After the completed waterproof layer has been cured for 7 days, a 24-hour closed water test should be conducted if conditions permit. Alternatively, leakage can be checked after rain or by watering for 24 hours.
